New Hampshire got hit with a pretty big ice storm last night. I was at work late because of deadlines. We ended up getting food delivered, which was a good thing because by the time I got home the power had been out for an hour or so. The roads were passable on the way home — a few branches down and some slush. Throughout the night, though, the trees kept cracking. I mostly slept through it, but Tyson was up for a bit of the night. In the morning, the landlord set up his generator, so our refrigerator and one light are powered off an extension cord from the main house. The last report I saw said 200,00 of 500,000 customers lost power. So it will be a while untill we get power back. We did drive in to work today partially because we had a prior appointment to get new snow tires put on the car. The roads had plenty of trees down on them, but were mostly passable. It took a surprising distance into MA before people had power again. And then it was even farther until gas stations hadn’t been run out of gas for generators.

The weather is supposed to clear up today, so I don’t expect getting back will be any harder than coming to work was.

If you wind up stuck in MA with conditions unsafe to drive north you’d be welcome to crash at my place.
