A Family Adventure

Tyson, Emilie & Isaac

My legs are sore

December 7, 2008
Emilie Phillips

There wasn’t enough snow to go back country skiing, so instead we went up to Bretton Woods to see if there was anything left of our tele technique. We managed to hook up with some friends of ours who were already headed that way. In the morning we skied with Larry, and in the afternoon with Jen and Darlene.

The good news is that I didn’t loose much of my technique. And my new plastic boots and helmet worked for me.

The bad news is that I lost all of my muscles. I spent the entire day having to stop and rest after very short sections of trail. Tyson started out the day a little better, but by the end he was groaning.

  • I had precisely the same good news / bad news as you today. Plus, since the end of the spring, and especially since I moved in September, I’ve hardly been exercising. So I was out of cardiovascular abilities that I had last winter. The first couple rises just killed me until I realized I had to pace according to my wimpy new self.
