summer thoughts: kayaking

Kayaking seems like the most reasonable hobby for the first part of the summer while Tyson gets his knee fixed. So, Tyson was looking around and remembered the Blackburn Challenge, a race around Cape Ann that we’d heard about. It is a 20 mile coastal race done in pretty much any weather. While pondering whether this would be a reasonable goal for the summer, we came across the boat classifications. They have three kayak classes Sea Kayak, Fast Sea Kayak, and Unlimited or High Performance. The short description said
“The Unlimited or High Performance class (HPK) includes […] virtually all Westside Boat models.”
Oops, guess that would mean we would be racing against the fast people.
