Tyson is getting close to the point where the AMC run telemark clinics are not teaching him much more. I’m close, but I keep learning a little bit when I go.
I started out trying Tyson’s skis so I could compare them to mine. In the end I couldn’t tell too much difference in the skis. The differences in the bindings overwhelmed the skis.
The bit of technique that I worked on this time was edge control. I had been unweighting my edges by popping up, but apparently that’s not the preferred way to do it. I’m still not quite sure I understand what you are supposed to be doing instead, but I think I was coming up less without falling down by the end of the evening.
After skiing, we all stopped by the bar to celebrate Paul’s and my birthday.
