After having played with my new zoom lens for the last week, I put my 40mm equiv lens back on. That is a fun lens. I still have yet to see how the telephoto zoom lens works when I’m really taking pictures on a trip rather than just playing around inside. On the other hand, the way I have actually been using the camera this last month has been to procrastinate on chores and going to bed in the evening. There the 40mm equiv. f1.7 lens is just peachy. (For those of you who don’t know, the first number relates to field of view, which is reasonable for indoor. The second number is a piece of how much light is let into the camera. In this case, it is quite enough light so that I can still take photos even when half the room lights are off telling me to give up for the night.)
