The first snowfall is always fun. It is a first brief appetizer for the coming season — usually not enough to ski on, but just enough that everyone starts dusting off their skis, ski movies, and plans for the winter. I also just genuinely like winter. We had our first little fire in the stove. The hot tub will be put to use soon. And in not too long, wreaths and lights and candles will spring up all over the place. Today might have been the usual tedious day at work, but I couldn’t help but smile remembering little details of fun trips from last winter. Also, I think I came up with a ski goal for this year that I think I can make with Tyson’s help. It is a little ambitious, but Tyson thinks it is doable. I have been wanting to do it for the past two winters, but never fit it in the schedule. For now, it is something to look forward to and a motivator to get back on the bicycle this weekend.
