These photos are from our family vacation to Utah at the end of September 2013.

The first two days, we did Bryce.

Day 1 we did a longer tour.

Day 2 we decided to go for the touristy and impressive Bryce Amphitheater.

Then the federal government shut down and the national parks were closed.

For the third day, we went to Powell Point. We had been seeing the Table Cliff plateau off in the distance the first two days and Tyson wanted to go see it. We hiked to 10,000ft elevation. We also started at 10,000ft.

Emilie picked the Adams Head for the fourth day. This was a higher peak in the middle of Dixie National Forest.

The final two days we went for easier hikes.

Day 4 – Red Canyon. We learned that ponderosa pines smell like butterscotch on the interpretive nature trail.

Day 5 – Kodachrome Basin State Park.
