After yesterdays rain storm, we expected the snow to be miserable and went hiking instead of skiing. My parents and I went to a small mountain, Pitcher Mountain, on the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway in south western NH. Everything looked according to plan until ten miles out from the trail head. Then we started worrying that the snow might be too deep for hiking. It turned out to be marginally OK. But it was nice fluffy snow that would have made great skiing. Tyson had the worst part of the bargain; he went to work.
