This is the 5th day of our vacation in Glacier National Park.
Thursday it rained. We had already had enough fun that we did not feel the need to get miserably wet on a full day hike.
Instead we walked down to the grand hotel and browsed their photos and historical exhibits. There was a series of repeat photos of the retreating glaciers, also available online from the USGS. We ate lunch at the hotel restaurant and then drove around to the visitor center on the Going-to-the-Sun road to look at some more exhibits.
On the way back from the visitor center, we saw two brown bears off the side of the road.
Probably the best part of the day was the lenticular clouds flowing around the end of a mountain ridge. That meant the wind was probably wrapping around the mountain instead of over it.
