A Family Adventure

Tyson, Emilie & Isaac

Marlboro Trail

We took a short afternoon hike on Mt Monadnock. The fall foliage is just starting in southern NH, so we chose less popular trails, the Marlboro and Marian trails, but even they were fairly busy. There is a bit of rock scrambling on the trail. Isaac thought it was so much fun he had to try it out for himself. Even Tyson found a mini cliff to climb. So, we ended up not going very far or fast. We saw Tyson’s Dad fly overhead doing a scenic flight. I was hoping we could return to the swamp a the bottom in time to take a picture of the setting sunlight on the mountain, but we were just a little bit too late.

  • Looking at Isaac, his stride and balance are looking good. I think that you need to start looking for cross-country skis for this winter. What is his current shoe size?

    • I think he is wearing size 8 now. He’s worn through the toes on his shoes again, so I’ll get a new measurement soon. I definitely think he’ll want to try his own skis this winter.
