My parents came up for Christmas vacation hoping to go skiing, but there really wasn’t much snow. Tyson had to work half of the holiday week. So the day after Christmas, my parents, Isaac and I hiked Skatutakee and Thumb Mountain in the Harris Center in western NH. Tyson and I had hiked it back in May, but my parents had never been. That previous hike, Isaac was barely able to walk over the roots and rocks in the trail.
This time Isaac hiked a bunch more. He really enjoyed sliding down the snow. It was chilly enough that we did not stop and enjoys the views for as long as back in May. Dad made a futile attempt to saw some branches blocking the trail with his pocketknife Christmas present. The two of us also spent some time trying to take photos of things other than people. It’s really hard to take a picture of a forest. The trees get in the way.
