I attempted to lead an AMC family trip to Windblown again this year. With all the snow we received in southern NH it looked like it was going to work, but then the forecast predicted a wintery mix and my co-leader requested to cancel. So I officially canceled the trip but a few of us went anyway — myself, Isaac, and another couple with a kid in the pulk. All the usual logistics of getting kids outside, but we had a nice ski. Before lunch it did snow some very wet snow. The other family had rented a fully enclosed pulk, so their kid stayed dry. Isaac’s pulk only has a wind screen, so I covered him up with Tyson’s rain jacket. We looped around the green and blue trails several times, maybe as much as 4 miles. Isaac skied on his own a little bit and very very briefly slid on his own too. It happened when he was skiing on a mostly flat section of trail, so he was initially surprised but then seemed to decide it was a little fun.
