A Family Adventure

in the mountains, ocean, and air

Our second excuse for flying down to Florida was to meet up with Russ and perform the Bearhawk annual inspection. Thursday morning we lazed around until Russ returned from work and then all worked on the conditional inspection in the afternoon.

Russ and Renea’s place is right on the lake with a dock and constant bird visitors. Tyson took Isaac out to splash in the warm water. I hadn’t thought to bring swimming suits, but they made do. Meanwhile, I was overdue for a haircut, so I found a local salon in town.

Russ returned shortly before noon and we all ate lunch together then headed back to the airport. The conditional inspection went well. We made a list of things that would probably need maintenance before the next annual. A few things needed routine maintenance; the brakes needed new pads, spark plugs needed to be cleaned, and various things needed to be oiled. Tyson and Russ did most of the work. I mainly entertained Isaac so he would not try to help.

Several times during the afternoon, drenching thunderstorms passed through. We definitely made the right decision to fly down a day early.

We didn’t quite finish in time for dinner with the rest of the family, so we had Mexican at the one good place in town with good margaritas.

Previous Day: Flight down.
Next Day: Sun ‘n Fun.
