RV return from annual

We had a sunny break between two snow storms (finally) this weekend, so Tyson flew me over to Manchester to pick up my RV-4 from its annual inspection. Mostly it didn’t need anything major. There were a few worn rivets to be replaced. The brakes have continued to be an issue, so the mechanic inspected them for any possible issue. He found that the rotors were cupped, which could lead to poor alignment and wear on the pins like we have seen. So he replaced the rotors and pads.

Then we headed home. Manchester air traffic control wasn’t too busy. Though they did take a while to let me taxi. But, the really busy at traffic control was Boston approach controlling the airspace around Manchester. I couldn’t get a word in edgewise until I was almost out of their airspace.

We had to hurry off as soon as we got back, so I had no time to practice slow flight or extra landings like I should have after a month not flying.
