I’m writing this post years after the fact.
I remember we paddled out after sunset the first day and saw some early fireworks. I think we set up our tent on the island mid day to claim the one available spot and then paddled more in the afternoon.
The second day I remember climbing up on a big rock island, then noticing some seals investigating our kayaks below. I felt bad scaring them off from where they had hauled out onto the rocks, but we needed to depart. We both remember our campsite that night being infested with ticks.
The third day it was so foggy we couldn’t see 100 yards. Full time compass, chart, and GPS navigation. We kept our ears pealed on our one crossing.
This was our first attempt camping with low volume Greenland style kayaks. We had to pack like backpackers, but we had plenty of space for three days.
