I’m writing this post two years after the fact, so I’ve forgotten many of the details. We returned to Willard Pond after getting chased away earlier that spring by black flies.
In addition to taking the short loop up over Bald Mountain, we explored a side trail. The trail was blazed, but once it turned off an old road, it had no treadway. We lost the trail in the middle of an aging orchard. The apples looked worth coming back to later in the season, and the view was nice.
