Emilie Solos the Bearhawk

March 24, 2018
Emilie Phillips

My first solo would have been a bit less stressful had the Bearhawk not been on skis, and two melt strips plowed the length of the runway. I did all the taxiing with Tyson in the airplane (and once outside moving it around when I got too close to the snow bank). But I flew home on my own and landed at Brookline no problem.

Tyson tracked my landing

Here’s a silly video of soloing the Bearhawk and getting to fly Mike’s Bird Dog.

I practiced some slow turns and stalls before landing at Brookline.
