Trying out the Dublin Nordic trails

February 21, 2021

The last few years, I had heard people comment about the Dublin private prep school expanding their nordic trail system, and a few mentions that the public can us it. I convinced Tyson to try it out this past Sunday. The upper trails are used for high school team racing. I knew the race course at Jackson is fun. The Dublin course winds back on itself more than the Jackson course, but skiing it was just as fun. The downhills lead to uphills with room to carry your speed. At skating speeds, the turns get exciting. The top trails go almost to the top of the ridge. From there, we got some views through the trees. Isaac complained at the fast uphill pace we set. Afterwards, he grinningly admitted it was fun We all got good exercise. Tyson is considering how to replace bicycling with skate skiing in the winter.

I’ll get to posting the rest of our fun weekend activities. It’s school vacation week and I’m beat from two days of fun skiing with Isaac.
