Isaac demolished my apple sauce stash early in the year, so as soon as apples appeared at the farmers market, I decided to make a batch of apple sauce. Fast forward two weeks until I found time. To keep the project small, I only bought one peck of Gala and one peck of Zesta. The resulting flavor was a nice blend of sweet and tart, but the overall flavor is a little bland. The apples only made 6 quarts of sauce, and we ate through the first jar in less than a week. So I definitely need to make a second bigger batch.
